Angela O'Callaghan - Funeral Celebrant

I have been creating and celebrating unique funeral services for several years throughout the Central West and Western NSW.
My lifetime experience living on the land and in large and small regional and remote communities has given me a deep understanding and appreciation of the characters of rural Australia and the importance of celebrating their invaluable legacies.
— Angela O’Callaghan

I decided to become a celebrant after attending my first funeral service that was not held in a church.
The celebrant disrespected my friend’s sister by rushing the service, getting her name wrong twice and saying nothing personal about her.
What shocked me even more was hearing from others afterwards that the same generic service had been used by the celebrant in the previous week, with only the names changed. That funeral service prompted my decision to train as a celebrant.
I am dedicated to working closely with families to create a unique, heartfelt, and authentic celebration that truly reflects the life of their loved one. Every service I conduct is crafted with care, respect, and a genuine understanding of the person being honoured.

The process of working with a family to create a unique celebration of the life of their loved one is a tremendous honour.
“Angela is the most kindest and caring celebrant. At our darkest hour, Angela sat and listened to us without interference. She was well prepared with a wealth of information and guidance.
She took the time and it was a long time, to meet our need with care and consideration. At all times she understood what we wanted and how we wanted it.
Never tried to change our minds or do it her way. It never felt like the arrangements were the same boring ideals. Angela kept in contact and fixed any changes that came about.
Always updated us with new information well before time. Most of all Angela made us feel that our grieving was sincere and respected that we could tell our story in our own time. She made the funeral around our loved one and to the point.
The service went beautifully and our loved one had the greatest send off we had imagined.”
